Monty's First Half-Birthday!

Let me just start with saying that I am going to disappoint you by only having one picture. I know, it's sad! But I have struggled taking good pictures of him lately, and although I've tried insanely hard to get a picture of his two new teeth I have failed. A couple of days ago I decided to get out the video camera and catch some video clips of him - well, I forgot the camera at my parents house so it will be another day or two before I can even get to that. I've also started and stopped this post about 10 different times, so just be happy that I'm finally posting it! And I promise to get some more pictures and a video up soon!

Monty fell asleep while playing with his toys! And look....it's his favorite piano!

Babies are amazing aren't they? Just a couple of days ago Monty laughed so hard that he snorted and I thought I was going to die laughing, and just today he started saying "Mmmm" while he eats - he just melts my heart sometimes.

I love to watch him learn. Each day he pushes farther and farther with his toys and is starting to get a memory of what they all do. His favorite is a piano that plays a different tune depending on what button you push. He actually remembers which one plays his favorite song and when the music stops he'll hit it again. It just amazes me how well he is starting to learn. He has started to turn the pages in his board books too, and has a couple of favorite books already! Isn't that amazing?

One of the cutest things he does right now is hug. I just can't get enough of his hugging, even if it is 110 degrees outside. The downside of our closeness is that he is really starting to get attached. While he was teething, I held him more often because he was constantly crying and in pain. Now, I have a little boy that is used to being held. He will still sit and play with his toys just fine as long as he can hear or see me, but soon gets separation anxiety if I completely disappear. And oh, he has started teething again! Maybe his top two teeth will come in together like the bottom two did.

He is an amazingly good eater. He'll eat anything you put in front of him and always finishes his food. His favorite food right now is graham crackers - they have become my buffer when I'm busy. If I'm working in the kitchen I'll just set him in his highchair/booster seat. He'll pound on his tray and eat the crackers all day long if I let him. He has also discovered apple sauce which is a really big hit with him.

What has Monty accomplished the first six months of his life?
