Holiday Mocktails!!!

So, as I was sitting in the doctor's office reading, Pregnancy Magazine, this afternoon I came across an article called "9 Months of Mocktails" that inspired this post......"Holiday Mocktails" Since we just can't drink this holiday season. Here are a few that I found, that sound oh-so-yummy.

Hanukkah Bubbly Bubbala
Sparkling concord grape juice
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1 tsp. granulated sugar
1 lemon wheel

Just mix and serve with a lemon wheel on the rim!

Baked Apple Mock-tini
1 oz sweetened apple juice
Fill to top with 7up/Sprite/Ginger-ale.

Cut an apple into quarters and skin it. Soak in brown sugar and dash of cinnamon. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place in a glass baking pan for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. You can prepare these ahead and store them in the refrigerator until you are ready to use them. Serve with a baked apple slice on a fun mocktail stick.

Santa's Hat
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 Teaspoon water
1/4 Cup sweetened, flaked coconut
3 oz. red cranberry juice
1/2 oz. grenadine
1 candy cane

Put water, sugar and coconut on three small plates. Dip first in the water, then sugar then coconut to rim the martini glass. Mix remaining ingredients together in a shaker with ice, then top with a candy cane.

Strawberry Mint Mojito (not holiday specific, but it is my favorite!)
4 strawberries
2 lime wedges
6-8 mint leaves
2 tsp. raw sugar
1 cup club soda

Quarter three of the berries. Squeeze lime into a highball glass. Add the quartered berries, mint and sugar. Crush mixture with a muddler, then add ice and club soda. Stir gently until sugar has dissolved. Garnish with the remaining strawberry.
