The Number One Question...

The first question just about everyone asks is "What are you craving?". There have been a few odd cravings that come and go such as ketchup and mustard. Two condiments that I rarely used before my pregnancy. I find myself eating fries just so I can eat ketchup, and for the first time in my entire existence, I topped off my 4th of July burger with ketchup and mustard.

In general, my cravings are surrounded by salt. I crave just about all salty foods: chips, fries, bacon and I even tend to put salt on all my vegetables and some fruits like watermelon. Occasionally I'll crave something sweet like frosting (cake) or fruits. But if I were to pick out what I truly wanted between a piece of cake or potato chips, the chips would win every time.

I have been counting the amount of veg. and fruits that I eat each day to help keep myself in check. Fruit Smoothies are my usual go-to healthy substitute, but I also tend to eat 1-2 oranges a day along with other fruits. I also try to eat a minimum of one salad a day, plus some sort of veg. at dinner time. Along with lots and lots of water through out the day.

On a side note: I feel great about myself that I no longer need caffeine to get me through the day. My entire life I have drank either soda or coffee to help wake up in the morning, perk up after lunch, or stay up later in the evening. It's a nice feeling to not be so dependent on caffeine.
